Shanghai, Hong Kong: Stocks open up ahead of China growth data

[HONG KONG] Shanghai and Hong Kong stocks opened slightly higher on Tuesday morning as investors awaited the release of Chinese economic growth data for 2015.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index edged up 0.02 per cent, or 0.57 points, to 2,914.41, but the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, eased 0.27 per cent, or 4.86 points, to 1,825.47.
In Hong Kong, the Hang Seng Index rose 0.24 per cent, or 46.12 points, to 19,283.57.
