Singapore shares begin afternoon trading on negative ground; STI at 3,390.12

SINGAPORE shares resumed trading on Thursday afternoon in negative territory with the Straits Times Index at 3,390.12, down 0.1 per cent, or 4.75 points, on the day as at 1.02pm.
Against the benchmark's level of 3,440 heading into the mid-day break, the index was down by 1.47 per cent.
About 619.4 million shares worth S$360.1 million in total changed hands.
Losers outnumbered gainers 171 to 164.
The most actively traded counter was Allied Tech, which rose S$0.005 to S$0.073 with 81.8 million shares changing hands.
Other actives included Rowsley which was down 1.52 per cent to S$0.13 with 40.5 million shares traded; and Thai Beverage which was trading at S$0.94 with 21.7 million shares changing hands.
