Singapore shares begin afternoon trading on positive ground; STI at 3,391.66
SINGAPORE shares resumed trading on Friday afternoon in positive territory with the Straits Times Index at 3,391.66, up 0.3 per cent, or 9.13 points, on the day as at 1.03pm.
Gainers outnumbered losers 169 to 136, or about five up for every four down, with 670.5 million shares worth S$396.4 million traded.
Among the active stocks, Sincap entered the afternoon session up 12.5 per cent, or 0.2 Singapore cent, at 1.8 Singapore cents with 33.99 million shares traded after the company took steps to address potential liabilities from a recently disposed subsidiary. ISR Capital was the most-traded with some 52.12 million shares changing hands at 0.5 Singapore cent apiece, up 25 per cent or 0.1 Singapore cent.
Active index stocks included ThaiBev at 92 Singapore cents, down 1.6 per cent or 1.5 Singapore cents; and Singtel at S$3.58, up 0.28 per cent or one Singapore cent.
