Singapore shares begin afternoon trading on positive ground; STI at 3,521.63
SINGAPORE shares resumed trading on Friday afternoon in positive territory with the Straits Times Index at 3,521.63, up 0.3 per cent, or 8.95 points, on the day as at 1.03pm.
Gainers outnumbered losers 244 to 119, or about two up for every one down, with some 1.25 billion shares worth S$547.2 million in total changing hands, working out to an average unit price of S$0.44 per share.
Among the active stocks, China Med entered the afternoon session at 0.2 Singapore cent, doubled from 0.1 Singapore cent with 96.37 million shares traded. IPCO was the second-most traded with some 92.5 million shares changing hands at 0.4 Singapore cent apiece, up 33.33 per cent or 0.1 Singapore cent.
Active index stocks included DBS Group Holdings, down 0.3 per cent or eight Singapore cents at S$26.38; and OCBC Bank, up 0.7 per cent or nine Singapore cents, at S$12.99.
