Singapore shares close 0.1% higher on Thursday

SINGAPORE stocks ended marginally higher on Thursday, with the Straits Times Index advancing 3.86 points, or 0.1 per cent to 3,180.43.

The field was roughly evenly matched, with 180 gainers to 184 losers.

Some 1.65 billion shares worth S$926.7 million in total changed hands.

The most actively traded counters by volume were Rex International, which rose 1.9 per cent to 11 Singapore cents, with 52.4 million shares traded; and Ezion which was flat at 7.2 Singapore cents with 36.7 million shares traded.

Other active index stocks included Keppel Corp which gained 2.6 per cent to S$6.80, and DBS which rose 0.5 per cent to S$25.22.
