Singapore shares close 0.6% down on Monday
SINGAPORE stocks ended 0.6 per cent lower on Monday, with the Straits Times Index shedding 20.02 points to 3,141.40.
Losers outnumbered gainers 243 to 145, or about five down for every three up, as some 1.83 billion shares worth S$712.2 million in total changed hands.
The most actively traded counter for the session was Rex International with 126.35 million shares traded, inching up 10.1 per cent to 10.9 Singapore cents. Other actives included AusGroup with 33.97 million shares traded, down 2.13 per cent to 4.6 Singapore cents and Falcon Energy with 24.83 million shares traded, flat at 4.5 Singapore cents apiece.
All three financials fell at the closing bell. DBS dipped 0.24 per cent to S$24.79 and OCBC Bank slipped 1.07 per cent to S$11.05. UOB fell the most by 1.33 per cent to end at S$25.97.
