Singapore shares close 0.6% down on Thursday
SINGAPORE stocks pared back the afternoon's losses to finish 0.6 per cent lower on Thursday, with the Straits Times Index retreating 19.24 points to 3,012.84.
Losers outnumbered gainers 269 to 132, with about 1.94 billion shares worth S$1.19 billion traded.
The most actively traded counter was Rex International, which put on 17.8 per cent or 1.3 Singapore cents to 86 cents apiece. Other actives included Genting Singapore and Ezion.
Active index stocks included the banks - DBS slumped 1.62 per cent to S$23.71, OCBC lost 0.38 per cent to S$10.60, while UOB fell 0.28 per cent to S$24.95.
