Singapore shares close 0.8% lower on Monday
SINGAPORE stocks ended lower on Monday, with the Straits Times Index shedding 23.2 points or 0.8 per cent to 3,045.97.
Losers outnumbered gainers 262 to 143, after about 1.67 billion shares worth S$1 billion changed hands.
The most actively traded counter was Nico Steel, which fell 37.5 per cent, or 0.3 Singapore cent, to close at 0.5 Singapore cent apiece, with 118.1 million shares traded.
Other active stocks included Singtel which fell 2.2 per cent to S$3.11, and Genting Singapore which lost 1 per cent to S$0.945.
