Singapore shares close 0.9% lower

SHARES in the local bourse closed lower with the benchmark Straits Times Index losing 30.4 points or 0.9 per cent to finish at 3,368.70 on Wednesday.
Turnover came in at two billion shares worth S$1.3 billion versus Tuesday's 2.6 billion shares worth S$1.7 billion with losers trouncing gainers.
Some 323 counters saw declines while 134 counters were up.
