Singapore shares close down on Friday
SINGAPORE stocks finished lower on Friday, with the Straits Times Index falling 0.7 per cent, or 21.8 points to 3,209.79.
Losers outnumbered gainers 243 to 125, or about two down for every one up, as 1.55 billion shares worth S$936.2 million in total changed hands.
The most actively traded counter was Advanced System, flat at 0.1 Singapore cent, with 139.4 million shares changing hands. Other actives included Thomson Medical with 116.67 million shares traded, up 4.82 per cent to 8.7 Singapore cents and Rex International with 102.37 million shares, flat at 11.7 Singapore cents.
Among active index stocks, DBS inched up 0.04 per cent to S$25.77, while OCBC Bank dipped 0.89 per cent to S$11.19.
