Singapore shares close with STI down 3 points

SHARES on the local bourse closed lower with the key Straits Times Index losing 2.9 points or 0.1 per cent to finish at 2,893.65 on Wednesday.
Some 1.3 billion shares worth S$948 million were traded. Gainers outpaced losers with 197 counters up and 172 down.
