Singapore shares end higher on Wednesday
SHARE prices on the Singapore bourse closed higher on Wednesday, with the key Straits Times Index up 14.74 points, or 0.47 per cent, to 3,124.65.
About 1.9 billion securities worth S$1 billion in total changed hands, which worked out to an average unit price of S$0.53 per share. Gainers outnumbered losers 208 to 173, or about six securities up for every five down.
The most actively traded stock was Rex International, which gained 0.9 Singapore cent, or 10 per cent, to end at S$0.099 after 105.7 million shares changed hands. Other actives included KrisEnergy and Yangzijiang Shipbuilding (Holdings).
