Singapore shares end lower on Tuesday
SHARE prices on the Singapore bourse closed lower on Tuesday, with the key Straits Times Index down 14.85 points, or 0.47 per cent, to 3,166.6.
About 1.7 billion securities worth S$991.3 million in total changed hands, which worked out to an average unit price of S$0.58. Losers narrowly outnumbered gainers 199 to 170, or about seven securities down for every six up.
The most actively traded stock was Nico Steel Holdings, which gained 0.1 Singapore cent, or 16.7 per cent, to end at S$0.007 after 149.2 million shares changed hands. Other actives included Thomson Medical Group and Nam Cheong Limited.
