Singapore shares enter Friday afternoon on lower ground; STI at 3,367.18
SINGAPORE shares resumed trading on Friday afternoon in negative territory with the Straits Times Index at 3,367.18, down 48.72 points or 1.4 per cent on the day as at 1.01pm.
Against the benchmark's level of 3,363.74 heading into the midday break, however, the index was up marginally by 3.44 points or 0.1 per cent.
Losers beat out gainers 443 to 59, or about 15 down for every two up, with 1.3 billion shares worth S$1.1 billion traded.
Among the most active stocks, Jiutian Chemical Group slipped 4.8 per cent, or 0.3 Singapore cent, to 5.9 Singapore cents with 46.4 million shares traded, while Singapore Telecommunications retreated 0.9 per cent, or three Singapore cents, to S$3.37.
Active index stocks included DBS Group Holdings, down 0.6 per cent or 17 Singapore cents at S$26.54; and OCBC Bank, down 1.1 per cent or 14 Singapore cents at S$12.12.
