Singapore shares enter Friday afternoon trading on lower ground; STI down 0.9%
SINGAPORE stocks resumed trading on Friday afternoon in negative territory, with the Straits Times Index retreating 31.74 points, or 0.9 per cent to 3,482.11 on the day as at 1pm.
Against the benchmark level of 3,478.9 heading into the midday break however, the index was up by 3.21 points, or 0.09 per cent.
About 1.10 billion shares worth S$565.3 million changed hands.
Losers outnumbered gainers 274 to 116.
The most actively traded counters were Advance SCT, which was flat at 0.1 Singapore cent with 85.7 million shares traded, and Oceanus, which was flat at 0.9 Singapore cent with 30.7 million shares traded.
Other active index stocks included DBS which was down 1.35 per cent, or 39 Singapore cents, to S$28.41, and OCBC Bank, which fell 0.9 per cent, or 12 Singapore cents to S$13.09.
