Singapore shares open 0.2% up on Monday
SINGAPORE stocks opened 0.2 per cent higher on Monday, with the Straits Times Index moving up 5.54 points to 3,332.06 as at 9.03am.
About 43.7 million shares worth S$61.9 million in total changed hands, which worked out to an average unit price of S$1.42 per share.
The most actively traded counter was Rowsley, which rose S$0.002 to S$0.114 with 6.4 million shares changing hands.
Other actives included Sun Moon Food and Jiutian Chemical.
Gainers outnumbered losers 98 to 50, or about two up for every one down.
Elsewhere, Japan's Topix gained 0.5 per cent and Australia's S&P/ASX 200 Index rose 0.8 per cent. South Korea's Kospi index added 0.3 per cent and futures on Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index were slightly lower, Bloomberg reported.
