Singapore shares open 0.56% higher on Thursday

SINGAPORE share prices opened stronger on Thursday, with the Straits Times Index (STI) up 16.47 points or 0.56 per cent to 2,978.28 as at 9.01 am, following gains on Wall Street.
Top gainers in early morning trade included DBS, Jardine Cycle & Carriage, and Keppel Corp.
A total of 55.9 million shares worth S$77.3 million had changed hands as at 9.02am. Gainers outnumbered losers 93 to 40.
