Singapore shares open 0.61% lower
SINGAPORE shares continued its downward trend, opening 17.57 points down, or 0.61 per cent, at 2,853.9.
Some 96.7 million shares worth S$79.4 million changed hands as at 9.01am, with losers outnumbering gainers 73 to 63.
The top three traded stocks by value were DBS, SingTel, and Hongkong Land.
In the region, Tokyo shares opened 0.65 per cent higher ahead of a Bank of Japan meeting later in the day and a much-anticipated interest rate decision from the US Federal Reserve this week.
