Singapore shares open 4.85 points lower on Thursday
SINGAPORE share prices opened lower on Thursday with the Straits Times Index (STI) down 4.85 points to 2,802.29 as at 9.01 am. Overnight, stocks in US and Europe fell as the upcoming US presidential elections continue to keep markets on edge.
Top losers in early morning trade included DBS and ComfortDelgro, while UOB and Keppel Corp rose.
Some 71.4 million shares worth S$63.4 million changed hands, with losers outnumbering gainers 73 to 51.
