Singapore shares open 8.21 points higher on Wednesday

SINGAPORE share prices opened higher on Wednesday with the Straits Times Index up 8.21 points to 2,957.33 as at 9.02am. Wall Street closed higher overnight.
Top gainers in early-morning trade included DBS Bank, Great Eastern and UOB. Some 48.3 million shares worth S$57.9 million changed hands, with gainers outnumbering losers 87 to 40.
