Singapore shares open flat on Thursday
SINGAPORE shares opened just north of unchanged as at 9.05 am on Thursday, with the Straits Times Index up by 0.74 points to 2,878.87 following an overnight rally in US markets.
About 63.2 million shares worth S$68.6 million in total changed hands, which worked out to an average unit price of S$1.09 per share.
Singapore Telecommunications supported the index with its early gain of 1.09 per cent, or 4 Singapore cents, to trade at S$3.71.
The most actively traded stock was Ezra Holdings, which rose 0.1 Singapore cents to 13.3 Singapore cents with 11.5 million shares changing hands.
Gainers outnumbered losers 105 to 47, or about nine up for every four down.
