Singapore shares open higher on Friday; STI gains 0.31% to 3,366.63
SINGAPORE share prices opened higher on Friday with the Straits Times Index (STI) up 0.31 per cent, or 10.38 points, to 3,366.63 as at 9.03 am.
Wall Street closed mostly higher overnight on hopes of tax cuts.
Top gainers in early morning trade included United Overseas Bank, up 10 Singapore cents to S$24.90, and OCBC Bank, which rose 5 Singapore cents to S$11.62.
About 135.2 million shares worth S$99.1 million changed hands, with gainers outnumbering losers 93 to 47, or about two up for every one down.
