Singapore shares open higher on Monday

THE Singapore market opened higher on Monday morning, mirroring gains in the US and Europe at Friday's close.
The benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) was up 24.64 points or 0.96 per cent to 2,601.73 at 9.05am on Monday, with 73.9 million shares worth S$89.9 million changing hands. Gainers outnumbered losers 112 to 27.
Early gainers included Jardine C&C, United Overseas Bank, Haw Par and DBS.
