Singapore shares open lower on Monday; STI falls 0.9% to 3,087.96
SINGAPORE shares opened lower on Monday, with the Straits Times Index down 28.43 points or 0.9 per cent to 3,087.96 as at 9.05am.
About 58 million shares worth S$110 million in total changed hands, which worked out to an average unit price of S$1.89 per share.
Losers outnumbered gainers 103 to 50.
The most actively traded stock was Jiutian Chemical, which rose S$0.001 to S$0.025 with 10.2 million shares changing hands.
Other actives included Genting Singapore and Rex International.
Among financials, DBS, which reported a 76 per cent increase in net profit on record total income and lower allowances for its third quarter before market open, was trading down S$0.35 or 1.4 per cent at S$24.31.
Meanwhile, OCBC shares were down S$0.05 or 0.4 per cent at S$11.42 and UOB were down S$0.32 or 1.3 per cent at S$24.90.
