Singapore shares open lower on Tuesday
SINGAPORE shares opened marginally lower on Tuesday amid a bout of negative earnings reports from corporates and a lacklustre Wall Street showing overnight.
At 9.02am, the benchmark Straits Times Index was down 8.55 points or 0.25 per cent at 3,367.42.
This followed a correction on US stocks on Monday as markets digested recent gains at the start of a week heavy on economic news, including a Federal Reserve policy meeting.
Some 94.9 million shares worth S$265.1 million were traded. Losers outpaced gainers 86 to 46.
