Singapore shares open marginally higher on Friday
SINGAPORE'S share prices opened marginally higher on Friday with the Straits Times Index up 9.28 points to 2,814.80 as at 9.01am.
Wall Street rallied on Thursday, buoyed by Apple's fourth-day advance. The Dow Jones Industrial Average jumped 0.99 per cent to end Thursday at 18,212.48 points.
Wall Street's SPNY energy index rose, bolstered by oil price advances. Brent crude traded at an intraday high of US$46.88.
In Singapore on Friday, some 36.6 million shares worth S$44.9 million changed hands, with gainers outnumbering losers 83 to 35.
