Singapore shares open up 0.21% on Monday, led by blue chips
BLUE chips led Singapore stocks higher at Monday's open, with the blue chip-dominated Straits Times Index gaining 0.21 per cent, or 6.98 points, to 3,262.27 as at 9.01am.
Gainers outnumbered losers 84 to 54, or about three up for every two down, after 75 million shares worth S$125.4 million changed hands.
Telco Singtel was among the top actives, rising 0.5 per cent, or 2 Singapore cents, to S$3.73.
Spackman Entertainment Group gained 0.6 per cent, or 0.1 Singapore cent, to 15.8 Singapore cents, after the filmmaker reported a turnaround to profitability in the first quarter.
