SINGAPORE stocks closed lower on Tuesday, with the Straits Times Index down 0.16 per cent or 5.12 points to 3,201.15.
About 1.15 billion securities worth S$969.22 million changed hands, which worked out to an average unit price of S$0.84. Losers outnumbered gainers 210 to 184.
Among the most heavily traded by volume, Ezion Holdings closed up 0.2 Singapore cent or 4.44 per cent to S$0.047 with 83.4 million shares traded. Rex International added 0.4 Singapore cent to close at S$0.094, with 76.1 million shares changing hands.
Among index stocks, Thai Beverage gained one Singapore cent or 1.41 per cent to end at S$0.72, while Genting Singapre closed up S$0.01 or 0.93 per cent to S$1.09.
