Singapore stocks enter afternoon session flat; STI at 3,533.97
SINGAPORE shares resumed trading flat on Thursday afternoon with the Straits Times Index at 3,533.97, down 0.02 point on the day as at 1.03pm.
Against the benchmark's level of 3,534 heading into the midday break, the index was down marginally by 0.03 point.
About 1.40 billion shares worth S$757.1 million changed hands. Losers beat gainers 177 to 173.
Among the most active stocks, Asia-Pacific Strategic Investments fell 25 per cent, or 0.1 Singapore cent to 0.3 Singapore cent, with 176.6 million shares traded; while Hoe Leong Corporation surged 20 per cent, or 0.6 Singapore cent to 3.6 Singapore cents with 41 million shares traded.
Active index stocks included Singtel, down 0.6 per cent or two Singapore cents to S$3.52; UOB which was up 0.9 per cent, or 24 Singapore cents to S$27.67; and CapitaLand which was down 0.8 per cent or three Singapore cents to S$3.81.
