Singapore stocks enter afternoon session higher; STI up 0.2% on day
SINGAPORE shares resumed trading higher on Friday afternoon with the Straits Times Index at 3,486.12, advancing 5.68 points, or 0.2 per cent on the day as at 1.02pm.
Against the benchmark's level of 3,487.9 heading into the midday break, however, the index was down marginally by 1.78 points, or 0.05 per cent.
About 1.01 billion shares worth S$569.6 million changed hands.
Gainers outnumbered losers 204 to 147.
The most actively traded counter was Magnus Energy, which was flat at 0.1 Singapore cent with almost 60 million shares traded. This comes after the group on Friday announced that it will be placing out 1.31 billion new shares at 0.09 Singapore cent apiece, to raise some S$1.18 billion.
Other active index stocks included Venture Corporation which was up 1.3 per cent, or 35 Singapore cents to S$27.32; and Singtel which was down 0.3 per cent, or one Singapore cent to S$3.34.
