Singapore stocks enter afternoon session higher; STI up 1.2% on day

SINGAPORE shares resumed trading higher on Tuesday afternoon with the Straits Times Index at 3,480.29, up 41.68 points, or 1.2 per cent on the day as at 1pm.
Against the benchmark's level of 3,479 heading into the midday break, the index was up marginally by 1.29 points, or 0.04 per cent.
About 1.2 billion shares worth S$695.9 million changed hands.
Gainers outnumbered losers 223 to 123.
The most actively traded counters were Allied Technology which rose 7 per cent, or 0.4 Singapore cent to 6.1 Singapore cents with 49 million shares traded, and Infinio, which was flat at 0.8 Singapore cent with 38 million shares traded.
Other active stocks included Creative which was down 6.3 per cent or 55 Singapore cents to S$8.20; and DBS which was up 1.6 per cent or 45 Singapore cents to S$28.45.
