Singapore stocks open higher on Thursday; STI up 0.32% to 3,219.18
SINGAPORE stocks opened in positive territory on Thursday following overnight gains in US markets, with the Straits Times Index increasing 0.32 per cent or 10.27 points to 3,219.18 as at 9.01am.
Gainers outnumbered losers 97 to 30, or about three up for every one down, after 86.6 million shares worth S$57.6 million changed hands.
Consumer blue chips were among the early actives, with drinks maker Thai Beverage Public Co adding 0.5 per cent, or half a cent, to S$0.915. Integrated resort operator Genting Singapore rose 0.9 per cent, or one Singapore cent, to S$1.065.
