Singapore stocks: STI resumes Monday afternoon at 3,118.42, down 0.5% on day

SINGAPORE stocks fell on Monday afternoon's trading resumption, with the Straits Times Index declining 15.97 points or 0.5 per cent on the day to 3,118.42 as at 1.02pm.

Losers outnumbered gainers 199 to 93, or about two securities down for every one up, as about 934.1 million securities worth S$394.7 million in total changed hands.

The most actively traded counter was Rex International, which gained seven Singapore cents or 8.3 per cent to S$0.09 with nearly 75 million shares changing hands.

Other actives included New Wave Holdings with 60 million shares traded at one Singapore cent apiece, and BlackGold Natural Resources with 25.3 units traded at 2.6 Singapore cents each.

Active index stocks by value included Golden Agri-Resources, which lost half a Singapore cent or 2 per cent to S$0.25, and Singtel, which fell 3 Singapore cents or 1 per cent to S$3.10.
