Singapore stocks: STI resumes Tuesday afternoon trading lower at 3,045.83, down 1.06% on day

SINGAPORE stocks resumed afternoon trading in negative territory on Tuesday, with the Straits Times Index falling 32.23 points, or 1.06 per cent to 3,045.83 as at 1pm.

Losers outnumbered gainers 220 to 90, with about one billion shares worth S$390.5 million traded.

The most actively traded counter was Nico Steel with 24.19 million shares traded. It dipped 20 per cent, or 0.1 Singapore cent, to 0.4 Singapore cent apiece.

Among active index stocks, local banks UOB, DBS and OCBC were down.

UOB fell 1.19 per cent to S$25, with about 1.01 million shares traded. DBS lost 1.03 per cent to S$24.10, with 1.25 million shares changing hands. OCBC traded lower by 1.76 per cent to S$10.62 with 1.9 million shares traded.
