Singapore stocks: STI resumes Wednesday afternoon trading higher at 3,159.67, up 0.6% on day

SINGAPORE stocks resumed trading on Wednesday afternoon in positive territory, with the Straits Times Index advancing 20.33 points, or 0.6 per cent to 3,159.67 as at 1.01pm.

Gainers outnumbered losers 181 to 116, after about 670.4 million shares worth S$440.7 million in total changed hands.

Among the most heavily traded by volume, Rex International Holding fell 2.6 per cent to 11.1 Singapore cents, with 67.1 million shares traded, while YZJ Shipbuilding rose 3.6 per cent to S$1.15, with 16.4 million shares traded.

Other active index stocks included Singtel which was up by one per cent to S$3.14, and DBS which gained 0.6 per cent to S$24.96.
