But prognosis for regional markets not dire given their relatively low valuation

Wall Street jitters spread to Asia, with Japan's Nikkei tumbling 2 per cent on Thursday. Also falling were the STI and Australia's ASX 200, with only Hong Kong's Hang Seng bucking the trend.
