STI ends Wednesday's session up 10.72 points
SINGAPORE shares ended Wednesday's session on a higher note, up 10.72 points or 0.36 per cent at 2,959.84, buoyed by extended gains in banking shares, even as investors wonder about the impact of Italy's referendum and the upcoming policy meeting of the European Central Bank (ECB).
Turnover came in at S$1.2 billion on a volume of 1.8 billion, with gainers beating losers 222 to 194.
Key movers such as DBS, OCBC, UOB and Genting Singapore helped prop the Straits Times Index up.
