Stocks to watch: Keppel, Sembmarine, Great Eastern, Venture Corp, EC World Reit, OUELH

THE following companies saw new developments that may affect trading of their securities on Monday:

BN4: The mainboard-listed conglomerate will see the carrying value of its investment in offshore vessel company Floatel almost triple to about S$284 million, from S$96 million as at Dec 31, 2020 as a result of equity accounting. In a separate announcement, Keppel Corp said that Keppel Land units will jointly develop eight plots of land in Tianjin with subsidiaries of Hong Kong-listed Sino-Ocean Group. Shares of Keppel Corp fell S$0.08 or 1.5 per cent to close at S$5.42, before these announcements.

S51 : S51 0%: The mainboard-listed offshore and marine company said in an interim business update on Monday that it expects losses to continue for FY2021. The group also posted an order book of over S$1.89 billion and said it is actively tendering for more than 10 projects, especially in the renewable energy and gas solutions segment. Shares of Sembmarine closed at 21 Singapore cents on Friday, down 0.5 cent or 2.3 per cent.

G07 : G07 0%: The mainboard-listed group posted a net profit of S$437.6 million for its first quarter ended March 31, 2021, 12.9 times that of S$33.9 million posted the year prior. This was mainly due to a higher valuation of investments amid more favourable financial market conditions for the quarter compared to a year ago, the group said in a filing on Monday. Great Eastern's shares closed at S$22.96 on Friday, down 1.1 per cent or S$0.26.

Venture Corporation: The manufacturing company reported an 8.3 per cent improvement in net profit for the first quarter to S$65.3 million from S$60.3 million in the previous year. This came despite "tepid growth in revenue" of 2 per cent to S$686.7 million, it said in an exchange filing on Friday. Venture shares closed at S$20.15 on Friday, down S$0.26 or 1.3 per cent, after the announcement.

EC World Reit: Its manager announced on Friday that there was an incident of collapse and displacement of a berth at its Chongxian Port Investment, resulting in the damage of two gantry cranes located within the vicinity of the berth. Operations at the damaged berth and its two adjacent berths were suspended due to the location of the damaged area. No injuries were reported, and the rest of the port operation remains unaffected, the company added. Units of EC World Reit closed down one Singapore cent or 1.3 per cent at 73.5 cents on Friday after the announcement.

OUE Lippo Healthcare (OUELH): The healthcare company received about S$249,000 in costs and disbursements from its legal proceedings involving funds owned by Crest Capital Asia and OUELH's former executive director Lim Beng Choo, it said in a bourse filing on Friday. OUELH shares closed flat at 4.1 Singapore cents on Friday, before the announcement.

Top Global: Sukmawati Widjaja, the mainboard-listed property group's executive director and controlling shareholder made a voluntary conditional cash offer on Friday for all the issued and paid-up ordinary shares of the company at S$0.39 apiece.The offer was made through Mdm Sukmawati's wholly-owned investment holding company SW Investment Holding, with a view to exercising its rights of compulsory acquisition and subsequently delisting Top Global from the Singapore Exchange. Shares of Top Global last closed at 38.5 Singapore cents on Thursday before the company called for a trading halt pending the latest offer announcement. It requested that the trading halt be lifted on Friday evening.

Trading halt: Leader Environmental Technologies requested a trading halt on Monday pending the release of announcements. The counter closed 1.9 per cent or 0.2 Singapore cent higher at 10.9 cents on Friday.
