Stocks to watch: Singtel, Eu Yan Sang, Metro, Raffles Education
THE following stocks made material announcements which might affect their trading activities:
Singapore Telecommunications (Singtel) posted a net profit of S$954 million for the three months ended Dec 31, 2015, compared with S$970 million a year ago. The telco said on Friday its underlying net profit, excluding one-off items, was S$955 million. Revenue rose 1.1 per cent to S$4.5 billion.
Eu Yan Sang International reported on Friday that its net profit fell to S$498,000 for the fiscal second quarter ended Dec 31, 2015, from about S$2 million a year ago. Revenue rose one per cent to about S$85.6 million.
Metro Holdings reported on Thursday that its net profit dropped 12.6 per cent to S$55.7 million in the third quarter. Revenue inched down 1.3 per cent to S$41 million for the three months to Dec 31, 2015.
Raffles Education Corp swung to a loss for the second quarter. Net loss for the three months to Dec 31, 2015, amounted to S$5.2 million compared to earnings of S$431,000 a year ago. Revenue fell by 2 per cent to S$29.5 million.
