Stocks to watch: Yoma, ThaiBev, Singtel, StarHub, China Everbright, Asian Healthcare Specialists

THE following companies saw new developments that may affect trading of their securities on Monday (Nov 29):

Yoma Strategic Holdings Z59: The Myanmar-based group on Monday (29 Nov) posted a net profit of US$216,000 for the second half year ending Sep 30, 2021, reversing from a loss of US$44.6 million a year ago. This comes despite significantly lower revenue as the group recorded other gains compared to other losses the year before, and a lower share of losses of associated companies. Shares of the counter closed down 1.5 per cent or S$0.002 at S$0.133 on Friday (Nov 26).

Thai Beverage Public Company (ThaiBev) Y92: The beverage company said on Friday (Nov 26) that it is mulling a price increase on its key products amid higher cost pressures that have set in with the pandemic. ThaiBev's company executives said this at a conference call on Friday evening after the firm reported a net profit of 24.6 billion baht (S$1 billion) for the full fiscal year 2021 ended September, some 8.3 per cent higher than earnings of 22.8 billion baht in the year-ago period. Shares of the counter closed at S$0.695 on Friday, down S$0.02 or 2.8 per cent before the announcement.

Singtel Z74, StarHub CC3: The Infocomm Media Development Authority announced on Friday (Nov 26) that Singtel and an M1-StarHub consortium have each been provisionally awarded 25 megahertz of the 2.1 gigahertz spectrum, the maximum allowed under Singapore's latest auction to make available more spectrum to support the deployment of 5G networks. Singtel shares fell by S$0.03 or 1.2 per cent to S$2.44, while StarHub shares closed flat at S$1.36 on Friday, before the news.

China Everbright Water U9E: The wastewater treatment company said in a bourse filing on Friday (Nov 26) that it has signed a framework agreement with the water authority bureau in the Chinese port city of Qingdao worth 1.43 billion yuan (S$307 million), in relation to a wastewater treatment plant expansion and upgrading project. Shares of the counter closed at S$0.29, down 3.3 per cent or S$0.01 on Friday before the announcement.

Asian Healthcare Specialists 1J3: The medical services group posted a 56.4 per cent increase in net profit to S$2.45 million for the second half of the year, bringing its full-year net profit up 73.2 per cent to S$4.48 million. Announcing this after trading hours on Friday (Nov 26), the company said the board has proposed a final one-tier exempt dividend of S$0.0028 per share. Together with the interim dividend payment of S$0.0042 per share declared on May 14 this year, the total dividend payment for FY2021 will be S$0.007 per share. Shares of the counter closed at S$0.166, down 1.2 per cent or S$0.002 on Friday before the announcement.

Jubilee Industries NHD, Accrelist QZG: Catalist-listed Jubilee said in a Saturday (Nov 27) bourse filing that it has entered a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to sell its fully-owned electronics unit, WE Components, for an indicative consideration of US$11 million. Shares of Jubilee closed at S$0.053 on Friday, up 6 per cent. Accrelist shares were down 6.3 per cent or S$0.004 to close at S$0.06.

Trading halt:

Addvalue Technologies A31 : A31 0% has called for a trading halt on Monday (Nov 29) morning, pending the release of an announcement. Its shares closed down 7.1 per cent or S$0.001 on Friday (Nov 26) at S$0.013.
