Tokyo: Benchmark Nikkei index opens higher

[TOKYO] Tokyo shares rose 1.04 per cent at the open on Thursday, following Wall Street higher for a second day ahead of the Federal Reserve's hotly anticipated interest rate decision.
The Nikkei 225 index at the Tokyo Stock Exchange gained 190.39 points to 18,361.99 in the first minutes of trading.
