Tokyo: Shares fluctuate at open after Wall Street loss

[TOKYO] Tokyo shares fluctuated in opening trade on Tuesday, as investors largely kept to the sidelines following a negative lead from Wall Street.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index ticked up 0.16 per cent, or 26.49 points, to 16,677.06 in the first minutes of trade after opening in negative territory.
The broader Topix index of all first-section shares gained 0.18 per cent, or 2.40 points, to 1,307.93.
