[TOKYO] Tokyo shares opened higher on Monday after a weaker-than-expected US August jobs report came in short of forecasts, reducing odds for a US rate hike this month.

The benchmark Nikkei 225 index jumped 1.21 per cent or 205.32 points to 17,131.00 in opening deals, while the broader Topix index of all first-section shares added 1.22 per cent or 16.38 points to 1,357.14.
