Tokyo: Shares open higher after Wall Street gains

[TOKYO] Tokyo stocks opened higher on Friday following healthy gains on Wall Street, while the forex market remained stable.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index was up 0.67 per cent or 147.95 points at 22,238.07 in early trade, while the broader Topix index climbed 0.40 per cent or 6.38 points to 1,621.35.
