Tokyo: Shares open higher as yen stabilises

[TOKYO] Tokyo stocks opened slightly higher Tuesday in subdued trading as the dollar held firm against the yen.

The benchmark Nikkei 225 index opened 0.07 per cent, or 13.48 points, higher to 19,264.56, while the Topix index of all first-section issues rose 0.02 per cent, or 0.27 points, to 1,547.28.
