Tokyo: Shares open lower

[TOKYO] Tokyo shares opened lower on Thursday as investors were increasingly cautious ahead of policy meetings by the US and Japanese central banks next week.
The Tokyo Stock Exchange's benchmark Nikkei 225 index fell 0.64 per cent, or 105.62 points, to 16,508.62 in the first few minutes of trading.
The broader Topix index of all first-section issues was down 0.67 per cent, or 8.80 points, at 1,305.94.
