[TOKYO] Tokyo shares rallied at the start of trading on Tuesday, tracking sharp gains on Wall Street after oil prices surged to new 2016 highs.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index at the Tokyo Stock Exchange soared 0.93 per cent, or 152.55 points, to 16,618.95 in opening deals, while the broader Topix index of all first-section shares rose 0.67 per cent, or 8.87 points, to 1,330.52.
