Tokyo: Stocks climb on US-China G20 trade truce

[TOKYO] Tokyo shares closed higher Monday, as investors breathed a sigh of relief after the US and China agreed to suspend new tariffs in their escalating trade war.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index added 1.00 per cent or 223.70 points to end at 22,574.76, while the broader Topix index rose 1.30 per cent or 21.60 points at 1,689.05.
