Tokyo: Stocks close 2.51% lower on China, US rate fears

[TOKYO] Tokyo shares dropped 2.51 per cent Thursday, hit by worries about China and the impact of a possible US rate hike, a day after its biggest one-day jump in seven years.
The Nikkei 225 index at the Tokyo Stock Exchange tumbled 470.89 points to close at 18,299.62, while the Topix index of all first-section shares fell 1.85 per cent, or 27.85 points, to 1,479.52.
