Tokyo: Stocks close down 0.64%

[TOKYO] Tokyo shares closed 0.64 per cent lower on Tuesday, as oil prices slumped to near six-year lows and after a fall on Wall Street.
The Nikkei 225 index at the Tokyo Stock Exchange slid 110.02 points to finish at 17,087.71, narrowing its earlier losses as the yen weakened.
The broader Topix index of all first-section shares was down 0.43 per cent, or 5.89 points, at 1,374.69.
